Celiac Awareness Month
By Schwan's Home Service, May 13, 2016
One in 133 people in the United States have celiac disease – that’s over three million people that suffer from the only autoimmune disease with a known trigger: gluten. Gluten is a substance found in cereal grains, particularly wheat. People with celiac disease suffer from a variety of symptoms, and left untreated, can be at risk for other serious illness. The only treatment for celiac disease is a gluten free diet.
While we raise awareness for celiac disease in May, at Schwan’s Home Service we’re continuously working on new recipes to meet the needs of those with celiac disease.
No Gluten, All Flavor
Schwan’s Home Service offers gluten free versions of some favorite foods so that those with celiac disease can still enjoy some of their favorites: pizza and brownies.
