Schwan’s Cares™ Success: Community Rides to Support Fallen Officers
By Schwan's Home Service, August 4, 2016
The Fallen Officers of Harford County Memorial Ride has been an annual event since 2012. It began when a group of local businesses and motorcycle riders planned a ride to raise money for the families of fallen officers. According to fundraising organizer Brad Lankford, “Tragically the events of this past February have brought to light again the needs of Harford County Police Officers’ families. The outpouring from this community has been phenomenal, with local benefits from restaurants, bars and other businesses.”
This year, riders and community members honored the memories of Senior Deputy Patrick Dailey and Senior Deputy Mark Logsdon, who bravely lost their lives in the line of duty, with a well-attended ride on June 18th. This is the first year that the Fallen Officers of Harford County Memorial Ride has used Schwan’s Cares fundraising program. While the ride has passed, Brad Lankford hopes to continue fundraising efforts:
“It was help from sponsors like you that made this ride so successful. As in the past – we continue to be able to give 100% of what we collect directly to the families and/or the trust funds set up for their children.”
