Schwan’s Cares: Kearney Titans Orange Youth Baseball Team
By Schwan's Home Service, March 29, 2016
Root, root, root for the home team!
The Kearney Titans Orange 13U youth baseball team may be local heroes, but the fans are spread far and wide. That’s one of the reasons they chose Schwan’s Cares™ to raise funds for the team, for the second year in a row. Launa, the organizer of the fundraiser, says “We have raised money through other fundraisers, but this program allows neighbors, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all across the United States to help support the team and also receive Schwan’s® food.”
The Titans raised $1,200 with their first campaign, and it looks like they’re on track to wallop that record with $1,366 being raised in just the first half of their fundraiser this year. What will the Kearney Titans use the funds for? “The sport of baseball can be expensive with equipment, tournaments, uniforms, etc.,” says Launa. The Kearney Titans Orange team regularly places in the top 3 at the Nebraska USSSA State Baseball Tournament, so you can imagine that the money they raise through Schwan’s Cares™ helps fund tournament expenses.
Though they have used other programs to raise money, they love the ease of a Schwan’s Cares™ fundraiser, “The program is very easy to use to send out reminders, updates, and thank yous to our supporters. It is also allows you to personalize the pictures and messages” says Launa.
